The estate has remained in the same family for six generations, dating back to the 19th century, François Bachey, Lazare, Joseph, Marcel, and Christiane. Whether passed down through sons or daughters, each generation has preserved and enriched a singular heritage and philosophy.
Today, the vineyard spans 18 hectares across some of the finest terroirs in Santenay, Chassagne-Montrachet, and Maranges, where the elegance of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay is fully expressed. Much of the vineyard was planted between 1935 and 1955 and continues to be cultivated with great care year after year.
This cuvée comes from a single, exceptional 0.5-hectare plot of very old vines, planted in 1946. Ideally situated just below the Premier Cru Abbaye de Morgeot, it reflects the depth and character of its remarkable origin.
The nose reveals an initial burst of Morello cherry and dark fruits, unfolding into wild strawberry accented by subtle animal and spicy undertones. On the palate, the wine is rich and full-bodied, with firm yet refined tannins, an expression of old vines and naturally low yields, lending depth and character.
